Can white wine vinegar be used in place of white wine in recipes - specifically chicken cacciatore?

Not at all.

Vinegar of any type causes a chemical reaction.

Wine of any type reduces to a flavorful sugar.

If you need a substitute, use chicken broth, any clear liquor or omit it.Can white wine vinegar be used in place of white wine in recipes - specifically chicken cacciatore?
Nooooo Nooooo Noooo! Best alternative is to use white grape juice for white wine substitute and red grapejuice for red wine. Be warned though, they are both sweet and should be used with care or a bit of lemon juice and tasting to balance it out.Can white wine vinegar be used in place of white wine in recipes - specifically chicken cacciatore?
You don't need to use wine. Use white grape juice.

Wine in recipes are sometimes used for acidity.
No, white wine vinegar is sour and white wine is just wine. If you use the white wine vinegar, your recipe will spoil. Try rice wine (not rice wine vinegar) if you do not have white wine. I do this with a lot of Chinese recipes.
nope. sorry. =)
nope:)
No. Use red wine or a little bit of Balsamic vinegar. If you put in a little sugar or Agave Nectar it will improve the taste of the tomato sauce.
Yes, you may because after the alcohol from the wine evaporates, what is left is a composition of vinegar. So yes you may, the only thing that wont happen is the flame on your pan but the tastes wont change. Just add half of the amount of the wine you would use since there is no alcohol volume.

I am muslim and I dont drink alcohol so i dont cook with alcohol but im a chef so I substitute wine with vinegar and so far i have not gotten complains. I even use vinegar in chicken scallopini. it works!!!
