HUNGARIAN CHICKEN PAPRIKASH
1 onion
1/4 c. oil
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. paprika
4-5 lb. chicken, cut up
1/2 pt. sour cream
1/2 pt. light cream
DUMPLINGS:
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. water
2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. flour
Brown onion in oil. Mix seasonings. Add chicken and brown 10 minutes. Add water. Cover and simmer until tender. Remove chicken. Add sour cream to the drippings in pan and mix well. If more gravy is desired, add light cream.
To prepare Dumplings: Blend all ingredients. Add more flour if needed to make stiff dough. Drop into boiling water and cook 10 minutes, uncovered. Rinse in cold water and drain.
Arrange dumplings in drippings. Put chicken on top of dumplings. Heat about 30 minutes. Serves 6.The best chicken recipes?
Chicken Paprika
Ing:
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 tbsp paprika
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
4 chicken breasts, skinned (about 1-1/2 pounds)
1 tsp olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup sour cream
Hot cooked egg noodles
Fresh parsley (optional)
Dir:

Combine flour, paprika, salt and pepper on sheet of waxed paper. Coat chicken breasts with flour mixture. Reserve remaining flour mixture.

Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken; cook about 10 minutes or until browned on all sides. Remove chicken from skillet.

Add onion to same skillet; cook 2 minutes. Stir in remaining flour mixture. Gradually stir in chicken broth; cook and stir until mixture comes to a boil. Return chicken to skillet. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 25 minutes or until juices run clear.

Remove chicken to platter. Spoon off fat from gravy in skillet. Add sour cream to skillet; stir to combine. Serve with noodles. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.

dash of cayenne pepper
1 Tbsp. butter
1 small onion, chopped
3 c. water
1 pt. sour cream
2 heaping Tbsp. flour
Directions:
Sprinkle chicken pieces with paprika, salt and pepper. Brown slowly in butter; add onion and water. Cover and simmer until tender.
Remove chicken; keep warm.
Combine sour cream and flour ; stir in juices. Heat through, stirring constantly, until thickened. do not boil.

1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c.water or more,as needed
Mix well the flour, eggs, salt,baking powder and water to make a soft dough. Put dough on flat dish.
In 2 or 3 quarts boiling salt water, scrape bits of dough with a spoon in the water. Dip spoon in water if sticky. When haluski comes to top of water, take out and drain and rinse in warm water. Serve with chicken and gravy.

1 cut up chicken cleaned set aside in a bag mix bread crumbs, peper ,seanoning salt ,(just a little) paprika. put the chicken in an egg wash (eggs and milk) then in bag of seanoning shake and bake.
